MyWaggyTails South Wales
Home boarding, day care, dog walking and pet home care across Beddau and the surrounding valleys.
MyWaggyTails South Wales is a local authority licensed, fully insured pet-care business, run by Randle and family from their own home in Beddau. We offer proper home-from-home care: dog sleepovers, day care, home visits, pet sitting and dog walking, for owners who want their dog treated as one of the family.
Dogs stay with us as members of the family. Availability is deliberately limited, so every dog gets a warm welcome and a genuinely happy stay, with photo and video updates whenever we can.

The dogs we're best for
Every pet is different, with its own personality and foibles, and understanding that is the heart of good care. In our own home, we're at our best with sociable, well-adjusted dogs who are happy on and off lead, play nicely with people and other dogs, and love the mix of walks, enrichment and downtime we build our days around. If that sounds like your dog, they'll fit right in.

Fully compliant
Licensed, insured and trained
MyWaggyTails South Wales is licensed by our local authority, Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, to provide dog boarding and day care. Our licence number is 447001. Being licensed for boarding and day care is a legal requirement, and it's a criminal offence to offer these services without one.
We hold £5m public liability insurance and a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate. We're trained in canine first aid and hold Ofqual certificates in dog walking, boarding and day care. You're welcome to ask to see any of these documents at any time.
What your dog needs for boarding and day care
To keep every dog safe and happy, and in line with our licensing conditions, dogs staying with us need to be:
- Medically and behaviourally suitable, and able to get along with our own dog, a very friendly flat-coated retriever
- Up to date with vaccinations (Leptospirosis, Adenovirus, Parvovirus and Canine Distemper, usually shown as DPH and L2/L4 on the certificate)
- Covered by a current kennel cough vaccination (shown as KC), and up to date with vet-issued flea, tick and worming treatment
- Well socialised with other dogs and people
- Fully house trained, and comfortable sleeping downstairs
- Microchipped, with the chip registered to your current address
- Wearing an ID tag on their collar or harness
- Good with recall, with an on-lead trial before any off-lead freedom
We'll also ask for full, current medical and behavioural information about your dog, and there's a meet and greet plus a trial stay before any booking is confirmed, so both your dog and ours are comfortable.
A couple of honest house rules: we can't accept dogs in season, and we can't accept any dog showing aggression to people or other dogs. It's about keeping every animal in our care safe.
Our most popular services
Home boarding and day care in South Wales
Our two most popular services by a country mile: day care for working days, home boarding for holidays, both from our licensed family home in Beddau. Day care runs 7.30am to 6.30pm with two walks, garden play, enrichment, a bit of grooming, and the odd bit of Netflix and a snooze.
Boarding dogs stay as family: sofas and orthopaedic beds, a safe secure garden, and photo updates so you can see them settled. We're licensed by Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council and keep numbers deliberately low, so booking ahead matters, especially for school holidays and Christmas.
Dog walking in South Wales
If you need dog walking around Beddau, Church Village, Llantrisant, Pontyclun, Talbot Green, Tonteg and the surrounding villages, we're happy to help where we have availability. We offer both one-hour and adventure group walks in local beauty spots, riversides and beaches, with a mix of training, play and sensory experiences. Our dog van carries a pet first aid kit, water, bowls and towels for wet days.
We walk off lead subject to your consent, the environment, your dog's recall and the group. Every dog wears a MyWaggyTails ID tag alongside their own, and we only accept microchipped dogs. For escapologists or dogs with poor recall, flagged in advance, we're happy to use your dog's GPS tracker.
Where a shorter, gentler walk suits, whether that's youthful legs or older aching ones, we have walks tailored to those profiles.
For dogs with stamina, our off-lead adventures run around 3 hours, with roughly 2 to 2.5 hours of proper exercise in some of South Wales' best dog-friendly spots. Your dog socialises, plays to their heart's content, and comes home happily worn out.
Prefer care in your own home?
For cats, small pets, puppies too young for walks, and dogs who are happiest where they are, we also offer pop-in home visits and live-in pet sitting. Quieter corners of what we do, delivered with the same care.
Randle
Randle, pet minder-in-chief, MyWaggyTails South Wales
Meet Randle
Hello, and welcome to MyWaggyTails South Wales.
We create diverse experiences for well-balanced, enriched and happy pets. We don't do one-off customers; we aim for long-term relationships built on trust and a homely, familiar experience for your pet. It all starts with our Pet Information Form and an initial meet and greet, because chemistry matters, both ways, and we like to really understand every pet in our care. Then we get on with the good bit: creating memorable moments around exercise, enrichment, pampering, play, care and love. There's no better sight than a dog dragging their owner to our door.
Life out and about: some walks are gentle meanderings, like our Sniffari, a slow stroll with plenty of sniffing that lets your dog read the world through their nose. A blade of grass, a tree stump, a lamp post: it's the local paper and the gossip column all in one, and they love leaving their own replies. Other days it's a sensory ramble through varied terrain, or brisk exercise with lots of play and hide and seek. And because this is South Wales, there are leafy glens, woodland and moorland, streams and rivers, and beaches and the sea, every one a feast of sights, smells and sounds.
Life around the home starts with a safe, secure garden. Inside there are orthopaedic beds, raised platforms, quiet corners and nests, sofas and hammocks, and toys aplenty. For the posh pooch, there's even a pet chaise longue. For muddy days we've a walk-in shower, a doggy hairdryer, a gentle brush and comb, a tick check, and a soft massage and tummy tickle to finish. When your dog stirs from their nap, there's enrichment waiting: sensory and mind games, snuffle pads, giant Kongs, footballs, agility poles and a tunnel. A happy hound, and time for another cwtch.
